Purist?
Now then, HDR, High Dynamic Range, is it a good thing for photography? I think it is. It certainly has its place. I know it isn't for everyone but no one can argue that they can make interesting shots with HDR. I'd like to get much better at it. This one to the left is at Ramsholt at sunset. Is it good? Is it HDR? You know what, I don't even care. I'm off to play COD!!! Come tell me a joke!!!

Manfluenza,
After my running down of a certain seaside town yesterday I decided to take a little drive down there to see if I was right. Welllllll, it was O.K. Bit messy, full of people who should have jobs standing around outside "Poundland" and "Superdrug". Middle aged men wearing bomber jackets straight out of the 80's (1980's I think!), ill fitting jeans and white Lacoste trainers. Singles mums (I assume!) walking round with a cigarette butt hanging from their lips trying to get their offspring addicted to nicotine before they can walk. The pier is still there. Why can't Mother Nature do us all a favour and claim it from us. Tsunami, coastal erosion, lightning, any of them would do the job for me!!! Yup, I think im going to check the estate agents for property prices!!! Oh, I have Man-Flu.

Bad film...
I wanted to like Wrong Turn 4. If it were only a little like the first one I would have been happy. I'm not even going to give it anymore inches.
So Felixstowe. I think we should give it to Essex. Its not really a Suffolk town is it? Yes i know its IN Suffolk, but it just doesn't really cut the mustard. Its a bit like Lowestoft. I believe that it's actually in Norfolk. I know Felixstowe is "classier" than its northern friend but you know what I'm saying.
Of course I'm only joking. I enjoy going to parts of Felixstowe. Languard Fort. Thats always worth a look. A dated pier to which you get through by passing all the nice young people in the run down arcades. Mcdonalds. Errr, right. On that note...

Autumn Leaves
Washing up. Don't you just love it. Not me. But it's just got to be done. So I better go and do it. Be right back.
That's my little boy to the left. I think he's great. Always smiling. Always happy. Most of the time. I'm thankful that he loves it when the camera comes out. I think in the 21 months he's been around I must have taken around 11,000 photos of the little blighter. Is that a lot? Maybe. What is the average amount of pictures a proud parent take sof their loved ones when they are growing up? I think im probably on the higher end of the scale though. This afternoon I'll be taking more as his little friend is round to play and we are goin to go for a walk in the autumn leaves. There's a beautiful place I used to go when I was a boy which is not very well known, and hopefully it will stay that way. So many places have been spolit. Oh this could turn into a rant so I better stop there. Right, I'm off to play, enjoy yourselves...

films, food and teething!!!
Contagion. A film full of stars but i still came away feeling slightly let down. It was ok though. Wait for DVD I reckon. In other news I had my first chinese meal in years yesterday. It certainly wasn't horrible but I remember why I don't often eat from that particular part of the world. How can a sweet and sour dish in a Chinese restaurant differ so much from a similar dish in an Indian one? Think I'll have a curry tonight...
getting back to photography I havent had enough time of late. not fair. I have been looking at other "photographers" in the area who charge for their services. Some I think, 'yup youve got something', and others I see and think, well, I don't think I'll go there. But if others are willing to pay for them who am I to judge?
Anyway I think I'm going to have to go and look at some Ansell Adams to clense my brain...good game good game...

Sticklepix; well well well
Sticklepix. Copyright infringement? Who knows. I'm sure I'll find out in time when Hasbro comes knocking.
Blogging. Now what do i do here? A little bit about what I want here maybe would be a good start. I'm hoping to take a keen interest of mine, namely photography, and start to make a little bit of wonga from it by hiring myself out to do photoshoots for familys, couples, whatever. Portraits with a twist. Thats the plan. However I certainly dont want to limit myself there. Landscapes, seascapes, HDR, anything that anyone wants, I will shoot.
I suppose there desire to have somebody else say that they 'like' my pictures in a non Facebook sense. It's always nice to have a bit of feel good about things you have spent your grey matter composing and then working it up to the final image. Phew.
Anyway, I want to post this so I can see what it looks like, and find out where I need to go from here with it. Come say hello.
